Tom Moyane allegedly assaulted the 17-year-old mother of his grandson over the weekend.

Gauteng police are investigating a case of assault against suspended SARS commissioner Tom Moyane.

This after he allegedly assaulted the 17-year-old mother of his grandson over the weekend.

Police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini says the exact circumstances of the incident are still to be determined.

He says police in Honeydew are investigating a case of assault.

Dlamini says the case will be forwarded to the prosecutor on June 1 for a decision on whether to prosecute or not.

“At this stage I cannot speak about the court appearance because the case will be discussed with the prosecutor and if the prosecutor says we must charge him, that is when we will take him to court,” says Dlamini.
