Modiko Christian Mothupi, a long serving SABC radio presenter, has been laid to rest at Mmabatho cemetery in the North West.
Mothupi who died after a long illness, was described speakers at his funeral service as a humble and God fearing traditionalist.
He was a technical producer, presenter and deejay at Motsweding FM, a Setswana language station, at the time of his death.
Hundreds of mourners came to pay their last respects to the 56-year-old Mothupi.

“Indeed we have lost a very strong man. We have lost a committed broadcaster, an experienced man in broadcasting, with his 30 year-experience in broadcasting – I am not sure if we will get a substitute. Mothupi was not only passionate about broadcasting, he was also participating in promoting traditional music, in particular Setswana music. He represented not only the province but the whole country in the SATMA awards,” says Mphahlele.
