Moroka Swallows have parted ways with coach Steve Komphela. A statement by the Dube Birds says the two have amicably agreed to go their separate ways.

Swallows resumed their DStv Premiership campaign at the weekend with a 1-0 loss to Polokwane City.

Coach Komphela was not in the dugout for the encounter, with former interim mentor, Musa Nyatama in charge.

This was the first time the Dube Birds took to the field following protest action by players, which saw the club failing to fulfil two Premier Soccer League (PSL) matches against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows last year in December.

They were subsequently charged by the PSL for misconduct and bringing the league into disrepute.

Komphela joined Swallows in July last year from Mamelodi Sundowns where he was a senior coach. The Dube Birds are 13th on the log with 19 points from 17 matches.
