A baboon that had been on the lose has been tracked and caught in Krugersdorp, west of Johannesburg.
It’s still uncertain where the baboon came from, but it was initially spotted in the Northcliff area, north of Johannesburg, about two weeks ago.
Founder of the Community Led Animal Welfare organization, Cora Bailey, says the male baboon is in safe hands .
“He is going to be moved to a primate rehabilitation facility where he is going to be observed for a few days and then released into an area where he is going to have more opportunity to find another troop, to be with his own kind as nature intended,” says Bailey.
