EFF leader, Julius Malema has reiterated the message that has already landed him into trouble with the law when he encouraged land invasions.

Malema appeared at the Newcastle magistrate court in Kwazulu Natal on Monday, on charges of contravention of the Riotous Assembles Act.

In June 2016‚ Malema told a gathering in the northern KwaZulu-Natal town that white people could not claim ownership of land because it belonged to the country’s black majority.

He has again urged his supporters to continue fighting for land.

“The Riotous Assembles Act – it was passed to stop people from occupying land because the Freedom Charter said people must occupy land where ever they choose to do so. It is this act that Mandela was charged with, the one that we are charged with today. Everything we say people do, we said to our people occupy the land, people are occupying the land. We have created homes for the homeless, masses of our people; we did not need the electoral power. We needed the political power,” says Malema.
