Malema to attend Liberia presidential inauguration

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) leader Julius Malema will attend the Liberia presidential inauguration today.

President-elect Joseph Boakai won the election in November last year against then president, George Weah.

Weah, who only served for one term, says he won’t contest the election results.

Malema says members of the executive must be held accountable if they regress.

Boakai has since said that his administration will prioritise fixing the country’s economy and ensuring that service delivery is accelerated.

The incoming president campaigned on a promise to rescue the West African country.

Liberia is still suffering the fallout from two civil wars between 1989 and 2003, and the 2013 to 2016 Ebola epidemic that killed thousands.
