Deputy President David Mabuza will on Friday address the South African National Aids Council in Polokwane, Limpopo.

Mabuza will chair the session, which is expected to be attended by the Health minister and premiers.

Spokesperson for the Deputy president, Thami Ngwenya, says they will focus on the country’s response to HIV, TB and STDs ahead of the International Aids conference next month.

“Some of the issues basically is to look at the progress that Sanac has made over the period since the last engagement in terms of programs around the fighting of HIV and Aids, and more specifically with regard to the implementation of the National Strategic plan 2017 to 2022 – dealing with HIV, TB and sexually transmitted infections. And to then look at the program towards the International Aids conference that is going to be held in Amsterdam.”
