Deputy President David Mabuza has paid a moving tribute to late former Cabinet Minister and African National Congress stalwart Zola Skweyiya during his memorial service in Pretoria.

Hundreds of mourners including family, senior ANC leaders, government officials and former President Thabo Mbeki attended the service.

Skweyiya served as Public Service and Administration Minister from 1994 to 1999 under former President Nelson Mandela, and then as Social Development Minister from 1999 to 2009 during former President Mbeki’s administration.

Mabuza described Skweyiya as the epitome of disciplined leadership.
