Deputy President David Mabuza says he is optimistic that the African National Congress (ANC) will emerge victorious in these elections.
Speaking after casting his vote at the Azuri Farm in Barberton Mpumalanga, Mabuza says the voting period always reminds him of the apartheid era, when they used to fight for freedom. He says voting is the only way to change a government.
“If all of us can respect voting and understand that whatever we do, this the only way to change a government. People can express their will through the ballot. You rather affirm or not vote for a party. So in this case the people of South Africa are really maturing. We understand the process they don’t need to be persuaded that much to go and vote but of course some were saying we don’t see change, we don’t see that but this is the only way that you can express your feeling,” says Mabuza.
