Limpopo Public Works responds to concerns over poor road conditions

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Limpopo Public Works Department has acknowledged the concerns raised by residents protesting against the state of the road connecting over 20 villages and Louis Trichardt to the Makhado Municipality.

The two-day service delivery protest culminates in the delivery of a memorandum to the department’s offices.

Protesters are calling for the appointment of a service provider to rehabilitate the access road and an end to disruptions in power and water supply.

The spokesperson for the Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Witness Tiva, says the Department is committed to addressing the issues raised by the community.

Tiva states that an agreement had been reached with the local mayor, Dorcus Mboyi, on Sunday for the mayor to receive the memorandum on behalf of the Department of Public Works.

He emphasises that the service delivery issues go beyond the Ministry of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure and involve other government institutions. The department has expressed its dedication to the rehabilitation of the road and resolving the broader service delivery challenges.
