Free State police say there will be a large number of officials deployed at various Lesotho border posts to maintain law and order.
Basotho nationals will be returning to South Africa for work and re-opening of schools next week.
Police deployed include new recruits who completed their training last month.
A large number of police officers will be deployed at various Border Gates. This includes Peka, Maputsoe, Caledonspoort and Maseru.
These ports of entry are known to be used as gateways by car hijackers who cross into Lesotho.
