Judgment in NSFAS R14-million theft trial to be delivered in December

Judgment in the theft case of a student at the Walter Sisulu University in the Eastern Cape will only be delivered on the 14th of December.

It was due to be delivered on Wednesday but Sibongile Mani’s legal team requested the postponement as their client is currently busy with exams.

Mani erroneously received R14-million from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) instead of the R1 400 monthly stipend.

She allegedly spent more than R800 000 of the money.

In a court appearance last year, Mani said the case has taken an emotional toll on her:
