Joburg Emergency Services has called on the city’s residents to handle all warming devices with extra care as they attempt to keep warm this weekend.
Spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi has urged residents to do all they can to prevent fires.
“It’s cold in most parts of the City of Johannesburg today (Saturday). We just want to urge all the residents throughout the city to look after all the heating devices as they try to warm themselves, things like paraffin stoves candles, heaters not to leave them unattended while in use so that we can prevent fire incidents over this weekend.
