Fans are expected to flock to the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Friday when Ireland and France battle it out for the World Rugby Under-20 Championship title.
Cape Town’s Member of the Mayoral Committee for Safety and Security, JP Smith, says they’ll ensure the safety of the thousands of spectators expected to watch the game.
He says they’ve activated a CCTV operational centre in the stadium and deployed integrated enforcement teams.
The South African under-20 team will also take to the field when they play against England in the third place play-off.
The stadium has hosted nine tournament matches in total.
