Minister Motsoaledi says that they look at situations according to the merits it has and they examine it.

The recent announcement of an intervention task team – to save the Gauteng Health Department from total collapse – has been met with mixed reactions.

Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, has acknowledged that the provincial health department in a crisis – citing the Life Esidimeni Tragedy as one of the issues that expose inadequacies in the department.

Some however argue that a plan of this kind is not only needed provincially but nationally as well.

Minister Motsoaledi says that they look at situations according to the merits it has and they examine it.

“At the moment we have noticed and recognised mismanagement inefficiencies in the Department of Health in Gauteng hence we are intervening.”
