South Africa is a water-scarce country receiving an annual rainfall average of 495mm. However, the precious commodity is unevenly distributed. The country’s water woes are exacerbated by poor infrastructure and environmental challenges. Over the last few years, the country has experienced extreme water supply patterns from flooding to droughts as well as various diseases.
