Ayanda Nkosi says there are things that still need to change within the South African democracy.

Artist Ayanda Nkosi from White-River, Mpumalanga, was born in Richards Bay and studied art in high school. She then moved to Johannesburg to pursue art further and was mentored by Conrad Botha.

Nkosi says there are things that still need to change within the South African democracy.

“Definitely things have changed in the last 25 years, but there’s still a lot of stuff that needs to change.  Things that have changed; me as a young black South African exhibiting art in a white-dominated career shows that improvement has come through in South Africa.  Also the things that still need to change is that we could have been two or three Black people exhibiting, but definitely there is change.”
