Free State civic organisation on quest to remove pitbulls

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Pitbull owners across the Free State have been given seven days to voluntarily handover their pets.

The stern warning has been issued by the provincial spokesperson of the South African National Civic Organisation Tshepo Davids.

Two boys, aged eight and three, were fatally attacked by pitbulls in the province, in a space of a week.

Davids says they’ll be visiting households where it’s known that there are pitbulls and forcefully remove them.

“We’ve issued out a communication to our community to say, please handover those pitbulls. We’re in communication with South African Police Service, we’re in communication with SPCA, to accept those pitbulls, to say get away with pitbulls because we’re afraid, it’s now the second child, it might go to more, because we’re seeing it is a disaster. We’re going to forcefully take those pitbulls.”
