Five suspects will appear in the court in Kariega in the Eastern Cape tomorrow, in connection with murder of nine people in KwaNobuhle last week.

Police spokesperson Priscilla Naidu says the suspects aged between 26 and 30 years old, were taken in for questioning after they were found at a hideout in Summerstrand on Friday.

Naidu says in the first incident, four bodies were found inside a vehicle and another lying behind it. A sixth person was hospitalised.

In the second incident, two victims were also found inside a car and another outside the vehicle. Another body was found next to the road near KwaNobuhle, in the third incident.

“During the investigation, the team established that a white Toyota Quamtum bakkie was suspected to have been involved in the murders. Police worked tirelessly and around the clock to trace this vehicle and on 14/10 at about 18:10, the vehicle was spotted driving from Langa location in Uitenhage towards town. The vehicle was stopped in Van Riebeeck Hoogte and a 34 year old male was apprehended. The Quantum was confiscated. The three murder scenes are linked. All five suspects are charged on 9 cases of murder and one of attempted murder,” said Naidoo.
