Five family members murdered in Eastern Cape

Eastern Cape Police say five family members have been brutally murdered at Shisane locality outside Tsolo.

Police say the family members were attacked while sleeping by gunmen.

The motive for the murders is not known yet.

Police Spokesperson, Thembinkosi Kinana says, “According to the information, a family of five people aged between 18 and 82 years of age were sleeping in their home at Shisane locality in Tsolo when unidentified suspects entered their different rooms and shot all of them with  firearms.”

“The motive of the incident is not known at this stage, however five murder cases have been opened for investigation. No arrests have been made at this stage regarding the incident. Please contact the nearest police station. We promise that the information will be treated with strict confidentiality,” Kinana adds.

Limpopo

On Christmas day, seven family members were shot and killed allegedly by another family member at Jimmy Jones outside Malamulele in Limpopo.

According to police, the Christmas shooting happened just after midnight.

The suspect later handed himself to the police in Thohoyandou.

Free State

In August, unknown gunmen opened fire at a house in Welkom in the Free State, killing four family members.

Free State police spokesperson Motantsi Makhele says the gunmen entered the house in the Thabong location and randomly fired shots at the family members.

In the video below, police say they have launched a manhunt for the suspects:
