The Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) has lambasted the leadership of President Cyril Ramaphosa, saying it’s similar to that of his predecessor Jacob Zuma.

EFF national spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi says Ramaphosa’s cabinet contains many compromised ministers who are Gupta loyalists. This as the EFF reiterated its call for Finance Minister Nhlanhla along with other allegedly corrupt ministers to resign.

The party has called on Nene’s resignation  following his public apology for failing to fully disclose the extent of his interactions with the Guptas.

Ndlozi says, “That is the call we are saying Nene must resign but also tell South African there’s no difference between Zuma’s cabinet and the cabinet of Ramaphosa because if Ramaphosa is really a corruption buster and he’s really prepared to fight against corruption why does he have many corrupt minister in his cabinet. Just like Zuma did, the likes of Bathabile Dlamini, Nomvula Mokonyane, and the rest of the ministers with questionable characters such Dez Van Rooyen they’re all in Ramaphosa’s cabinet and he’s doing nothing.  We call on their resignation to protect the public.”

Speaking to SABC News EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu said Nene should not be trusted to oversee the country’s finances. This after Nene appeared before the inquiry into State Capture on Wednesday.

The EFF says will only accept Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene’s apology if he resigns.

Nene apologises

On Friday, Nene apologised to South Africans for meeting with members of the Gupta family at their residence between 2010 and 2014.

In a statement, Nene said his meeting with the Guptas at their home and not in his office or a public place was a mistake.

Meanwhile, Some South Africans have joined the EFF in rejecting Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene’s apology.

In a Twitter poll that the SABC conducted, one-thousand people were asked whether or not they thought the public still had confidence in Nene. The majority of voters refused.
