Disgruntled Free State African National Congress members have called on the National Executive Committee to investigate leaders who authorised the party’s provincial elective conference.

The Free State ANC held its provincial elective conference two weeks ago amid court actions by disgruntled party members.

Former Free State Congress of South African Trade Unions Secretary and current Police MEC Sam Mashinini was elected unopposed as ANC provincial chair.

The spokesperson for the disgruntled group, Monnapule Ntamo, says the problems raised at branches have not been cleared.

“We further want to request the NEC to investigate who has authorised the provincial conference of the ANC in the Free State and that those people must be investigated with an aim of being charged in terms of the ANC constitution because they are consistently bringing the ANC in the Free State into disrepute.”
