The Democratic Alliance’s attempt to dissolve the eThekwini Municipality council has failed.
The DA brought forward the motion citing that the municipality under Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda has failed to perform its duties and deliver services to the people accordingly.
The DA has been defeated by 53 votes at a council, which took place at the Durban ICC.
eThekwini Municipality Speaker Thabani Nyawosemotion said 128 councilors voted against the motion by show of hands, and only 75 were for the motion.
