DA to resume discussion on De Lille’s future this week

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Federal Executive says discussions around the future of Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille should resume early this week. The FedEx suspended its deliberations at the weekend so it could seek legal advice.

Deputy FedEX chair Natasha Mazzone says they received papers from De Lille saying she would go to court regarding her possible recall.

Last week, De Lille provided the FedEx with reasons why she should remain in office after the DA’s caucus in the City of Cape Town recently passed a motion of no confidence in her.

Meanwhile, De Lille has denied formally serving the DA with papers.

She says her legal team only sent a copy of draft papers which would formally be issued once a decision on her future in the DA has been made.
