A 41-year-old woman and her male partner have been burnt beyond recognition after a house caught fire at N’wa-Shinyamani village outside Louis Trichardt in Limpopo.

Police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says neighbours heard a gunshot before the house was engulfed in flames.

Police say the man from Waterval township, whose full details are not known yet, had visited his partner at her parent’s home in the village.

They were seen entering the house before the incident. Mojapelo says a domestic-related dispute could have been the cause of the incident.

“The police in Waterval outside Louis Trichardt have opened cases of murder and inquest after a 41-year-old woman and a man said to be a partner were burnt beyond recognition in a house at Nomashimani village.”
