Constitutional Court decision was designed to divide the Zulu people: Edward Zuma

The son of former President Jacob Zuma, Edward, claims the Constitutional Court’s decision that his father should be imprisoned for contempt of court was designed to divide the Zulu people.

The country’s apex court sentenced Zuma to 15 months in jail after the former President ignored an order to continue testifying at the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture.

The court will hear Zuma’s rescission application against the sentence on Monday next week.

Zuma says he will not hand himself over to authorities to start serving his sentence as he has legal challenges under way.

Edward Zuma says the judiciary is compromised.

“My point and problem about our judiciary system [is that] it has proven itself that it has been politicized and it is biased towards certain people. We just seen that a clear indication that their intention is to stifle issues in the country.”
