Botswana President fires Director of Intelligence

The new President of Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi, has fired his Director of Intelligence and Security Services Colonel Seabelo Kgosi.

A statement from the President’s Permanent Secretary Carter Morupisi says Kgosi has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.

Peter Magosi has been appointed in that position. This is Masisi’s second major shake-up, following the appointment of a new cabinet after his inauguration on the 1 April.
