Bhanga quits as DA member, Eastern Cape MPL

Democratic Alliance (DA) Member of Provincial Legislature (MPL) Nqaba Bhanga has resigned as a party member and member of the Eastern Cape legislature.

Bhanga is also a former Mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.

He says he appreciates the leadership and dedicated officials and staff for the support they gave him during his time as MPL and as the leader of the opposition in the 6th term of the legislature.

“I have decided to resign from the Democratic Alliance and the provincial legislature after more than 10 years. I have served in the Democratic Alliance. It is a difficult decision that I had to take. I thank everybody, black and white, coloured, and Indian who supported me throughout the journey. It was a difficult journey and a very challenging journey. I am going back home to reflect on what the future will look like.”
