Former Health and Social Development MEC of the Eastern Cape provincial government Phumza Dyantyi has passed away on Monday. No further details regarding her death were immediately available.
Premier of the Eastern Cape Oscar Mabuyane sends his condolences to the family of Dr Dyantyi, on behalf of the provincial government and the people of the Eastern Cape province.
Mabuyane says the role played by Dr Dyantyi in the fight for freedom and liberation of the people of South Africa makes her a very special daughter of the people of the province.
At the time of her death, Dr Dyanti served in the Portfolio Committee on Health as a Member of Parliament. “Her death is seen as a great loss to the ANC Parliamentary Caucus,” Mabuyane says.
