ANC government to resolve land issue

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The African National Congress (ANC) has assured those who are hungry for land expropriation without compensation, it will happen in their lifetime.

The governing party has released a raft of conference resolutions adopted at its 54th national congress in December 2017.

Key amongst these resolutions is the issue of land, the strengthening of the integrity committee, unity and renewal as well as re-positioning the ANC as a leader of society.

The ANC has released its much anticipated resolutions taken at its 54th national congress last December.

These includes the expropriation of land without compensation which has subsequently been affirmed in the National Assembly.

Whilst there were doubts from certain quarters if this could be done, the party says it’s pushing ahead, but this will not hurt food security and agricultural production.

Not part of its resolutions is the alignment of its conference with national elections to avoid recalling the head of state as soon as the new ANC president gets elected.

The party has also reaffirmed that the integrity committee will soon be finalised.

It’s also discouraged its members from taking the party to court, saying its Dispute Resolution Committee should instead handle the issues.

Meanwhile, the ANC remained mum on its choice for candidate for the mayorship of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality.

Current Democratic Alliance (DA) mayor, Athol Trollip is likely to be voted out in a vote of no confidence next week.
