Alleged Tembisa serial rapist back in court

The man dubbed the Tembisa serial rapist is expected back at the Rabasotho Magistrates Court in Tembisa, East of Johannesburg, on Wednesday morning.

Thembani Mbira has been charged for allegedly raping his 16-year-old and 12-year-old stepdaughters.

Mbira was arrested together with one of his three wives after she was said to have ignored the children’s plea for help and for also trying to evade arrest.

The Gauteng Department of Community Safety says this is one of the many cases that were cracked by Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Brigades based in Ivory Park.

Mpumalanga community disappointed by court’s decision

Last week, a 28-year-old man, accused of rape, was granted bail of R3000 by the White River Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga.

Jevonna Blom is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl.

The community of Hillsview say they are disappointed with the court.
