TUT must be worried about First Touch Academy – Molekwane

Reading Time: 2 minutes

First Touch Academy assistant coach Tlou Molekwane will be in charge of the dugout when the side opens their account in the inaugural National Women’s league in Soweto on Sunday.

Head coach John Hlako is away this week with work while Molekwane takes care of preparations.

The match against Tshwane University of Technology Ladies (TUT) will be the 30-year-old’s very first competitive match as a coach and he says he is not fazed by the challenge.

The Former Kaizer Chiefs, Polokwane City and Bloemfontein Celtic right-back says the girls have been anticipating the start of the league and they are excited that it is finally commencing.

Molekwane adds that having beaten TUT in a pre-season tournament the Limpopo side is not too worried about their first match at the Soweto Nike Centre.

The Academy vs TUT match is the second fixture on Sunday at 12:30, after the game between Golden Ladies and Thunderbirds Ladies (10:00).

The last match of the day is between Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and Richmond Ladies (15:30).

Meanwhile the opening day (Saturday) will see Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies duel with University of Pretoria in the opening fixture of the league at 10:00.

Durban Ladies and Tsunami Queens’s meeting will follow at 12:30 while Coal City Wizards and University of Johannesburg (UJ) close the day’s proceedings at 15:30 in Soweto. – Report by Lethabo Kganyago
