The Cape Town Weather Office says another cold front is expected to make landfall on Monday bringing along strong winds, rough seas and heavy rain to the Mother City.

The frontal system is expected to clear on Wednesday.

Senior Forecaster at the Cape Town Weather Office, Lebogang Makgati says they have issued a warning for heavy rain.

“We are expecting strong interior winds, winds are expected to be in the range of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour over the interior of the Western and the Northern Cape. We are also expecting some pre-frontal rain, expected more tomorrow evening into Tuesday, with more moderate to heavy showers from Tuesday morning. We have issued also a warning for a heavy rain leading to localised flooding, more for the Cape Metropole, Cape Winelands and parts of the Overberg District,” says Makgati.
