Makwakwa was reinstated to his position last year after after he was suspended following an internal disciplinary inquiry into his conduct.

SARS Commissioner Tom Moyane read Makwakwa’s letter to the Standing Committee on Finance.

There was a spat in parliament on Tuesday between taxmen and MPs over the investigations into Makwakwa‘s

It’s been more than a year since lawmakers have been trying to get these two reports.

On Tuesday, Sars officials implied they could not present the reports, that’s because they received requests to do so only on Monday.

At the centre of the reports, are allegations of money-laundering by Makwakwa and his girlfriend, Kelly-Ann Elskie.

After several hours of back and forth, Sars officials conditionally agreed to hand over the reports. But legislators were not buying it.
