Large parts of KwaZulu-Natal are experiencing low temperatures, heavy rains and even snow as a cold front passes through the province.
A thick white blanket of snow still covers the southern Drakensberg near Underberg.
Locals say snow could lead to livestock losses, especially on sheep and goats, because sometimes they cannot cope with low temperatures.
The South African Weather Service earlier issued a warning that heavy rains might lead to localised flooding over the southern part of the province.
Motorists have been urged to be cautious on the roads.
