Charges withdrawn against man arrested over Jukulyn shooting

Charges against one of the four men arrested in connection with the New Year’s Day fatal shooting of four people at Jukulyn in Soshanguve north of Pretoria, have been provisionally withdrawn.

Accused number 2, Tshepo Mosemeni has been released after the state indicated it will not continue with his prosecution following investigations.

Sipho KgomoZizwe Msibi and George Nyathi are facing charges of murder, and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

They allegedly shot and killed 14-year-old Vuyolwethu Ziwela, her uncle Mpho Kgobotlo – a police officer – and Kgobotlo’s two friends Phomolang Molakapatlo and Thando Dlamini.

The matter will be back in court on the 18th of next month.
