Ramaphosa arrives at Shembe Nazareth Baptist Church

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The African National Congrss (ANC) President, Cyril Ramaphosa has arrived at the eBuhleni faction of the Shembe Nazareth Baptist Church at Inanda in the north of Durban.

The church has been visited by a number of political leaders from several parties including former President, Jacob Zuma more recently.

In 2017, Ramaphosa visited the church to receive blessings ahead of the ANC’s elective conference at the time.

Spokesperson for the eBuhleni faction, Nkosiyazi Dlamini, “The month of January is a sacred month for us but we went to the holy mountain at Ekhenani. We finished the walk within 18 hours. I cannot comment much about the ANC President’s visit because other political leaders did visit us in the month of January. Also this is not his first visit to this church. We will hear from him as to what once he speaks to us.”

The ANC President Ramaphosa stated last month that the detractors who want to see the ANC go below 50% at the 2024 polls will not see their wish fulfilled.

Despite holding a mirror up to itself on a number of socio-economic challenges in the country, creating disillusionment and discontent, the ANC remains firm that it will not dip below 50% in the 2024 general elections.
