A former top International Relations official says ANC Veteran Billy Modise was a skilled diplomat who assisted greatly in South Africa’s integration into the international community of nations.
Modise died in hospital on Wednesday night at the age of 87.
Former Director General Ayanda Ntsaluba says Modise was meticulous at his job, “He understood the power of good relations in forging strong relations between nations so Billy was very approachable. Billy was always loved and admired by the diplomatic corps that is accredited to South Africa he reached out to them and made sure that every time there were interactions between our government state and the diplomatic corps accredited to South Africa that they were treated and accorded the respect that they deserve.”
