Mamelodi Sundowns defender, Motjeka Madisha, has died in a car crash. The accident that claimed the life of the 25-year-old player occurred on Saturday night in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, hours after the club celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Details of the accident have not yet been confirmed. However, reports say the car Madisha was travelling in along with another occupant, burst into flames on Zuurfontein road.
It is believed the driver of the car lost control and crashed onto a metal pole.
One of the occupants burned inside the car while a male occupant was found outside of the car. Both were declared dead on the scene.
This comes in the wake of the death of another Sundowns defender, Anele Ngcongca, who also died in a car accident in November and was laid to rest on Thursday.
Madisha joined the Brazilians in 2015 from Highlands Park. With the club and under the guidance of former coach Pitso Mosimane, Madisha won three ABSA Premiership titles between 2017 and 2020.
He represented the national team, Bafana Bafana, 13 times and scored one goal.
Condolences have poured in for the defender.
