Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has admitted that South African borders are porous and not secure enough.

Motsoaledi also says they only know of foreigners that are in the country legally but have no statistics on how many people are in the country illegally.

Foreign nationals have come under attack in recent weeks with locals accusing them of criminal activities and of taking their jobs.

Motsoaledi says they are working hard on securing the borders.
