More than 40 learners have been injured after the bus they were travelling in got involved in a crash on the R617 road in Hlabeni, northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Provincial Emergency Services spokesperson, Robert Mckenzie says when paramedics arrived at the scene, they found that private vehicles had taken most of the injured children to hospital.
“Paramedics responded to the scene and found that many of the children had already been transported to the hospital by private citizens. They treated some of the patients at the scene and all the patients have now been transported to the local institution. The exact cause of this specific crash is not known at this stage and is being investigated by police.”
