The Gauteng Education Department has condemned an incident at a Vaal school in which a pupil is seen assaulting a teacher. This after cellphone footage made the rounds on social media platforms on Friday.
The incident happened at the Three Rivers Secondary School in Sedibeng in the Vaal. In the video, the pupil is seen pelting a teacher with papers in an aggressive fit.
Details of what transpired before that are still being probed.
The Department says it’s dispatched a team of officials to the school. It says the learner will face necessary disciplinary measures.
Counselling is also being offered to the affected teacher and has called on parents to play an active role in their children’s schooling.
