Police have launched a manhunt for a man who allegedly raped a 71-year old woman in Kasa village near Elliotdale in the Eastern Cape.
It’s alleged that the suspect forced his way into the victim’s home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
He then overpowered the victim before raping her.
Police spokesperson is Jackson Manatha says the suspect is not yet arrested.
“After the alleged rape the suspect took on his heels. Elliotdale cluster brigadier Xakavu has condemned the alleged rape and has vowed that the police will work around the clock to chase the suspect. Anyone with information about this alleged rape is kindly requested to contact Elliotdale police on 047 577 0011 or crime stop 08600 10111 as the suspect is not yet arrested”.
