Minister of Energy David Mahlobo says the energy sector is the biggest contributor to economic growth.
Mahlobo was on Morning Live unpacking the upcoming Energy Indaba that is set to take place on Thursday at Gallagher Estate Convention Centre, in Midrand.
He also says that the energy sector injects more than 34% of the GDP.
“For this economy to grow, all these people in the energy sector, we have agreed to come together and understand to respond to the question to say; what are going to do in this time around, short, medium and long term to reignite our economic prospect, while at the very same time giving the needed jobs that are supposed to be there,” says Mahlobo.
The Indaba will be hosting experts, academics and business under the same roof to come up with strategies that seek to help grow the country’s economy.
