Reading Time: < 1 minute

Cape Town City FC continue their pre-season training ahead of the 2019/20 Absa Premiership. On Friday, City played a training match against fellow PSL side Highlands Park, who have spent the week in camp in the Cape.

While the match ended in a goalless draw, it was a good run out for both sides and City coach Benni McCarthy was pleased with what he saw from his players.

McCarthy says it was a good opportunity to give some of his younger squad members a run.

McCarthy was particularly pleased with how his more experienced players fared in the second half.

McCarthy is also pleased how his new signings are fitting in and says Tashreeq Morris has brought a dimension to the squad.

McCarthy also has high praise for Abbubaker Mobara, who he likens to a young Pep Guardiola. – Report by Rob Delport
