Application to interdict ANC’s Limpopo conference to be heard on Saturday

An urgent application to interdict the Limpopo ANC provincial elective conference is to be heard in the Johannesburg High Court at eleven o’clock on Saturday morning.

Advocate Tumi Mokoena is representing four disgruntled ANC members who want the provincial conference to be postponed. They say the provincial executive committee is illegitimate.

The four disgruntled ANC members are arguing that the term of office of the provincial executive committee expired in February.

The want the PEC dissolved and to be replaced by the provincial task team, which must organise a new conference.

Advocate Mokoena could not give further details except to say that they provincial conference will be interdicted.

Meanwhile, the ANC provincial executive committee has started with the registration of conference delegates. ANC NEC deployee, Thoko Didiza, says the conference is going ahead as planned.
