ANC releases first version of national list

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The African National Congress (ANC) has released the first version of its public representatives who will be considered for deployment in the National Assembly.

The names are from all but two branches across the country and were submitted directly to an independent agency.

The national list committee was chaired by the party’s Secretary General. The list excludes North West and Western Cape which were ordered to re-run.

In the Western Cape, there were allegations of some candidates being advantaged, while other candidates did not even see their names on the lists.

Following the nomination process all nominees are vetted to ensure that they meet the criteria of the Independent Electoral Commission.

The final list will be submitted to the ANC National Conference which will be held on the 4th of January for further discussions and adoption.
