The average dam levels in the Western Cape this week stands at a little more than 81%.

Spokesperson for the Western Cape Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning James Brent-Styan says the latest levels for dams providing water to the City of Cape Town are more than 100% full.

Styan says the early spring rainfall has helped with water levels in the province.

“We see from the South African Weather Service [that] we can expect some cooler weather for the rest of the week possibly some intermittent rainfall in some parts of the province. We certainly do hope to see some rain in those parts of the province that do still require some rain, in parts of the Garden Route [and] parts of the Karoo,” explains Brent-Styan.
