Mourners gathered at a local hall in Dhlamini, Soweto, to pay their last respects to the late Kwaito star and Trompies member Emmanuel Matsane on Saturday.

Speakers at the funeral service described him as a leader in the South African music industry.

Speaking at Matsane’s funeral service in Soweto on Saturday, Trompies member, Jairus “Jakarumba” Nkwe described his death as devastating.

“His legacy – the love of music. I don’t know what to say about him I’m heartbroken. He was intelligent,  he was an adviser. We lost a giant. We lost a good person. I don’t know as Trompies as he is now gone how are we going to cope. Are we going to start a new chapter because he was a leader? May his soul be in eternal peace. We will always remember him and his spirit will be forever with us.”
