Two suspects are due in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrates Court in connection with a triple murder on a farm in Bishopstown.
Daniel Debruin, his wife Glynis and father Collin were stabbed to death two weeks ago.
Police say they suspect a labour dispute to have been the motive. The suspects were arrested at Swapo informal settlement in Copesville.
Police spokesperson Thembeka Mbhele says: “They were found few metres away from the main house, his wife Glynis Debruin (60) was found dead in the kitchen and Collin Debruin (84) was found dead just outside his room.”
“Charges of murder were opened at Bishopstowe police station for investigation. After an intensive investigation, early this morning the Bishopstowe detectives with the assistance of the Mountain Rise K9 Unit arrested two suspects aged 27 and 35. They will appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court facing murder charges.”
In November police were investigating the troubled Normandien police station outside Newcastle in northern KwaZulu-Natal, after a local farming couple Glen and Vida Rafferty were killed in August this year.

Police Minister Bheki Cele said four people were already been arrested in connection with the killing of the Raffertys.
“In Normandien you know that more people have been arrested now. When we went there, there was one person, now four more have been arrested,” says Cele.
Cele visited the area and held a meeting with both the farming community and farm dwellers in September after concerns were raised about the police station’s alleged shoddy service.
